Cape Cod ~Serenity

Serenity (noun):
The state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled.

One of my favorite places to vacation is Cape Cod, Massachusetts, U.S.  There many reasons to visit and one is the Cape Cod Seashore National Park.  I appreciate that these 43,607 acres facing the Atlantic Ocean were set aside for current and future generations to enjoy hiking, biking, camping, fishing and learning about coastal conservation.

Protecting our shores and ocean resources is important for more than beauty and serenity.  The challenge of balancing the fishing industry, over fishing demand and conservation is a current dilemma worldwide.  To learn more, browse the National Geographic article on the challenges of ocean sustainability and the Smithonian Ocean Conservation website.

  1. What a beautifully composed shot! Reminded me right away of a line from Conrad’s Heart of Darkness: ” In the offing the sea and the sky were welded together without a joint” Thanks for stopping by my blog and glad you enjoyed the Michigan woods winter scene. 🙂
